Legacy Told
Terms of use
The plain rules for using this website and joining the list.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Chamberlin Enterprises LLC, which runs Legacy Told ("Legacy Told," "we," "us"), about your use of legacytold.life. By using the site, or by joining the email list, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About Legacy Told
Legacy Told helps people record their life stories in their own words, so their families can keep them. It was started by David Chamberlin in Harbor Springs, Michigan. It is not open to the public yet. For now this website introduces Legacy Told and lets you join a list to hear when it opens. What you read here is general information and can change as Legacy Told takes shape.
Using the site
You are welcome to read the site, share it, and join the list for yourself. You must be at least 13 years old to join. Please do not:
- Use the site for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
- Sign up someone else without their permission, enter false information, or pretend to be someone else.
- Send automated or bulk sign-ups, spam, or anything meant to overload or disrupt the site.
- Try to get around its security, reach parts of it that are not public, or probe it for weaknesses.
- Copy or scrape the site, or upload viruses or other harmful code.
We may block access to anyone who breaks these rules, and remove sign-ups that look fake.
The email list
When you join, we will email you when Legacy Told opens, and we may send occasional news about it before or after that. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can leave the list any time at no cost. Joining is free and does not commit you to anything: it is not an order, a reservation, or a purchase, and it does not guarantee a place, a price, or a discount.
Services and the opening
Legacy Told’s services, prices, and opening date are not set yet, and plans can change. Anything you sign up for or buy will come with its own agreement, which you will see before you agree to it. If that agreement differs from this page, it will control for that service or purchase.

You give us permission to use it to respond to you and to run the list, as described in our privacy policy. If you send us ideas or suggestions for Legacy Told, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.

We work to keep this site accurate, secure, and available, but it is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or free of errors or harmful code. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, tax, or other professional advice for your situation.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Chamberlin Enterprises LLC and Legacy Told are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that come from using or being unable to use this website, and our total responsibility for any claim about the website is limited to $100. Your responsibility
If you misuse the site or break these terms, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result, including reasonable attorney fees.
Michigan law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. If you have a concern, please write to us first, and we will try to resolve it with you within 30 days. If we cannot, the dispute will be decided in the state or federal courts serving Emmet County, Michigan, and you and we agree to those courts.
Changes and general terms
We may update these terms as Legacy Told grows. We will post any update here with a new date at the top, and the version posted when you use the site applies. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part right away, we have not given it up. These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about this website.
